Gas Prices Still on the Rise

Gas prices continue to get more expensive, but Texas remains below the national average.
Gas prices continue to inch back up. AAA Texas reports they are now at an average price of $3.36 a gallon in Texas.
The average in Austin is also $3.36, a 10 cent increase over last week. Prices are still about 20 cents cheaper than this week last year.
The cheapest gas in the state this week is in El Paso at $3.17 a gallon. Drivers in Dallas are paying the most to fill up, at $3.40 a gallon.
Texas gas prices all remain below the national average of $3.49.
