AMOA's Louis Grachos Brings New Art Vision to Austin

Austin Museum of Art-ArtHouse (known as AMOA-ArtHouse), a hybrid art institution situated at the edge of Lake Austin and in Downtown Austin, has a new leader. Louis Grachos was selected to direct AMOA-ArtHouse after a 7-month international search. Grachos, who directed the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York, for the past decade, talks about his ideas for contemporary art programming and his aim to raise the national profile of Austin’s art scene.

Afghanistan Stories From the Walking Wounded

It’s been more than 11 years since the United States' war in Afghanistan began.  Nearly 20,000 U.S. military men and women have come back injured from the war.

Every one of those injuries has a story behind it.  Some were collected by Christine Dumaine Leche, a creative writing teacher at Austin Community College. She left her home and family to work with soldiers in Afghanistan, helping them to write about their experiences in a long and historic war.

Google Nose was unveiled Monday morning. It's "the new scentsation in search." Just put your nose to the screen to sample "15M+ sentibytes." Google's also offering new options to its "I'm Feeling Lucky" button, including "I'm Feeling Wonderful" and "I'm Feeling Hungry."

Twitter is out with "Twttr," a version that only lets you use consonants.
